DELPHOS, Ohio – On Thursday, Main Street in Delphos was packed with people as the Delphos Chamber of Commerce held the summer’s first Downtown Farmer’s Market and Block Party.
The farmer’s market brings together growers, bakers, craftsmen, and small businesses to offer the public a wide range of products. As shoppers battled the heat, food trucks provided them with tasty meals and cold beverages. At the same time, businesses around town provided a variety of fun activities and treats for the public.
“The entire goal is to bring people downtown and keep them there so that we can engage the business community with the public as much as possible. Get to know everyone’s faces because it’s a complete circle. People help businesses, and businesses in turn donate to all community events and activities. “So we all need to work together,” said Lindsey Lane, executive director of the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce.
The farmer’s markets will be held twice a month until August, on the second and fourth Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. Business block parties will be held on the first of each month.
